VOLUNTEER

We love our volunteers! They are the heart and soul of our rescue. Check out our opportunities below and if you are ready to join our team please fill out an application. Thank you!

Things to consider:

  • You must have a valid email address to volunteer with SBAR, as we primarily use email to communicate with our volunteers. After completing a volunteer orientation and shadow day, you will be added to our Facebook group where you can sign up for specific shifts.

  • To be considered an active volunteer of SBAR, you must complete two shifts a month.

  • The cats rely on us to care for them. Please only apply if you are serious about becoming a part of our team. Volunteers must be mature and dependable.

  • If you are under the age of 18, a parent or guardian MUST be with you at all times. Your parent MUST actively participate in your volunteer activities.

  • As a volunteer you must understand the risks involved in working near or with any animal, including the risk of personal injury.

Shelter Clean and Feed:
If you want to help at the shelter and don't mind dirty work this is for you! Shelter volunteers are responsible for cleaning the cat rooms/kennels, laundry, dishes and general shelter cleaning. Shifts are mornings and weekend afternoons. Must commit to two shifts a month. Minimum age requirement 18+.

Adoption Center Caretaker at the PetSmart Bossier:

Adoption Center Caretakers at PetSmart Bossier provide daily care of the cats at our offsite adoption center.  This includes cleaning of cages, providing food and water, monitoring the health of each cat and providing socialization for each cat.

Transportation/Kitty Cab:

Got wheels? Cat Transporters provide safe, reliable transportation for our kitties. This may include trips to or from the vet or our off-site adoption center at the Bossier PetSmart. Times for transporting vary and are flexible.
